This Privacy Policy explains how LawGeek International (“LawGeek”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit lawgeek.si (the “Website”).

The data controller is Luiz Guedes da Luz Neto, Brazilian attorney (OAB/PB 11.005), based in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil.

2. Data we collect
a) Data you provide to us
- Newsletter subscription: your email address.
- Messages: any information you send us when you contact us by email.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form (such as your name, email address, website if provided, and the comment itself), as well as your IP address and browser user agent, which help us detect spam. If avatars are displayed, an anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it.
b) Data collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and date and time of access. This data is recorded in server logs by our hosting provider and processed by security tools that detect and block malicious activity.
- Newsletter page: the subscription form and related resources are loaded from our email provider, Brevo. When you open that page, your browser connects to Brevo’s servers, which therefore receive technical data such as your IP address.
- Newsletter statistics: our email provider may record whether you open our emails and click the links in them.
- Cookies (see Section 6).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data, and we ask that you do not send it to us through the Website.
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |

| Sending the LawGeek Brief newsletter (including basic statistics on opens and clicks) | Your consent (you may withdraw it at any time) |
| Receiving and publishing your comments | Your consent, given by submitting the comment, and our legitimate interest in preventing spam |
| Replying to your messages | Our legitimate interest and, where applicable, steps taken at your request |
| Operating, securing, and improving the Website | Our legitimate interest |
| Compliance with legal obligations | Legal obligation |
These bases correspond to the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018) and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
4. Who we share data with

- Hosting provider: Hostinger.
- Newsletter and subscription form provider: Brevo.
- Avatars: Gravatar, only if avatars are displayed with comments.
We may also disclose data when required by law or by a competent authority.
5. International data transfers
We are based in Brazil, and our service providers may process data in Brazil or in other countries. Where the law requires it, international transfers of personal data are carried out in accordance with the LGPD and, where applicable, the GDPR.

You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Website works.
7. How long we keep your data
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Messages: for as long as needed to handle your request and to meet our legal obligations.
- Comments and their metadata: until we delete them or you ask us to remove them.
